I set my alarm for 8am, and when it beeped, I turned it off. Idiot me. My friend called me bout and hour later and woke me up. I saw the time, hung up with her and started reading at exactly:
9:12am-Somebody Killed his Editor by Josh Lanyon - 272 Pages (start page 70)
11:48am-The Maze Runner by James Dishner, stopped at page 120. (Started on page 32)
12:55 Decided to update and see if I can locate any mini-challenges.
1:15 Found Barts Mini-Challenge. I tried to take a picture of my entry, but my computer wont acknowalge the memory card, nor the camera. I hope putting them from Amazon will work instead.
Well nevermind spent all that time looking for pictures on Amazon, the contest is over. I do so hate my computer.
Well tried another mini-challenge. 1:00 Challenge. Someone jumped infront of me while I was posting, so now my part of the story doesnt really make sense, but hey, its a game. Maybe the challenger will notice that it happened and doesn't like toss my entry.
2:09 time to get back to reading.
2:15-3:38pm -Stopped reading Lucky on Page 93. (Started on page 1)
Going to do the 8th hour Challenge. Write a drabble.
Forgetting myself for a while this is why I read. Being someone else, feeling their joy, thier pain, their fears. I can be a hero saving the world. I can be a gay teen stuggling to find his place in the world. I can be a cat trying to save his family. I can be a street-rat who discovers she has magic. Books open worlds I will never see. Dragons, magic and evil. Fairies, swords and heros. Neverending love and unending pain I see it all, I feel it all. Then I loose it all when I close the book.
Hour Nine. Voting for Barts Title Sentance thing that I couldnt do.
I voted for: The King of Attolia kidnapped one corpse too many! **This lost. Winner was 18%, this one was 15%**
Made me laugh. And The King of Attolia is my favorite book in that series.
Ok. 4:11. Time to go back to my reading.
Read for about 5 mins, got feed up with the book. It has all this England-English Lingo that I dont understand, which is why Ive only gotten to page 93. I decided to make myself lunch and listen to the last cd of "The Demon King by Cinda Williams Chima. Listened to it from 4:20-5:30..
Then did the: 10th Hour challenge.
2nd 10th hour challenge. Relate Memories of reading as a child and link to Reading is Fundemental.
As a child, I grew up in a grouphome with 7 other girls and 4 staff round the clock. As you can imagin, in a home with 8 girls, and 4 ever-changing staff, getting alone time was tough. So I read. I found that if I was reading and another girl came in my room, she'd, 75% of the time, leave me alone. And, if I was reading alone in my room, when the rest of the girls would get into trouble by the staff, I didnt, cause I wasnt there.
Getting lost in a book was quite literal for me. I'd forget I hadnt been adopted yet, I'd forget I hadnt seen my sister in over a year, I'd just forget me and become the charecters. I find that true, even now.

My friend called about 4 times, ignored her calls. I told her yesteday thats what I would do. My Mom called to give me an update on my grandfather, I took that call and talked to her. My boyfriend called and I talked to him.
6. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?
I thought I could read faster than I am, but that Lucky book, didnt understand what they were saying and I was struggling through it.
7. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year?

8. What would you do differently, as a Reader or a Cheerleader, if you were to do
this again next year? Pick books Ive already read instead of struggling through one i didnt like.

14th hour Challenge
Bookish Movies. (I tried to post a comment twice on her page but it won't go through. Only shows one comment and it isnt mine)
Someone is Watching by Mark. A. Roeder.
Ethan is a teenager who is on the wrestling team. He is also gay. He is in love with his bestfriend but tries to hide it. When he finially tells his best friend he is in love with him, his best friend tells him he understands *but he isnt gay* and makes Ethan cry. Ethan has been confessing his problems to a friend of his who works on his Uncle's farm with him. That friend sort-of confesses that he has been in love with Ethan all this time and Ethan realizes he loves him too.
Throught the story, Ethan has been getting threatening letters in his locker and, at the end of the wrestling season, the person reveals himself and says if Ethan doesnt lose the wrestling match, he is going to tell the whole school, Ethan is gay.
I would love for Taylor Lautner to play Ethan. Ethan is strong, from working on a farm and from wrestling. He is also dark from being in the son all the time. I mostly think Taylor would be good as Ethan is because I want to see him kiss another boy! (BAD ME)
Alrighty, 9:31, time to go back to reading.

Hour 17 Challenge
Early Favorites.
The First book I remember loving was "The First Test" by Tamora Pierce.
I got that book when my therapist took me to a library at lunch when I was 9. Took me a while to pick, I could only get 1, and I kept going back to the same book.
I finially took it out and, as I was the only girl who slept downstairs, I got to to read it at night. It was about Alanna, a noble girl who didnt want to be a lady, so she switched places with her twin brother and went to become a knight. She disguised herself as a boy and became a page.
I finished the book dropped it facedown on my bed, went to the bathroom, came back, turned it over and started reading it again.
I had no idea the book was part of a series, I must have read that book near 1000 times by the time I was 12. When I left the school I was in, my teacher gave me the entire series. I was so estatic. I still own those books too.
Well, I was reading in my chair instead of on my bed, where I usually read, waiting for the 18th hour challenge. I just-just refreshed the page and... its nothing I can do, I am not raising money for any charities. Sorry.
So... it is now 1:13am, back to Shaldor's Lady!

We used to have an idependant bookstore, like 4-5 years ago, then it became a hand-bag place, then, last year it became H&R Block.
I am indeed tired, but only 5 hours to go! I can do it! Yeah! ... *snore* Lol, no Im fine. Its not like I havent pulled an all nighter before and at least I dont have to go to, and try to function at, work later today. Those days bite.
Anyways, Popcorn, then More Shalador's Lady. For those of you who havent read Anne Bishop... Why the hell not?!
She is awsome. I own all of her books except 2. (I own Pillars of the World but for some reason I dont like it, so I havent bought the rest of that series.)
Well: 2:35am, back to Shalador's Lady ("They couldnt figure out how to launch a war against a vegatable garden" LOL, Love that line!)
4:05 Taking a 2 minute break for my tea to boil, then back too book. Yay, the whistle is going off!
